The School of Technology and Management (ESTG) welcomed the team of the enter-CBL project: Boosting Entrepreneurial Mindset with Challenge-Based Learning, between July 3rd and 5th
This project seeks to empower future entrepreneurs through the development and implementation of the Challenge Based Learning methodology. The programme is jointly developed by four higher education institutions: WSB University (Poland), Istanbul Aydin University (Turkey), Romanian-American University (Romania), and the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. Businet (Belgium) took part in the meeting as an external expert, contributing its experience in the dissemination of international projects.
The programme highlights the value of challenge-based learning in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students. By engaging with real business challenges, interactive workshops, and industry professionals, participants gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to turn innovative ideas into viable business initiatives.
On the first day of the meeting, participants were introduced to ESTG and attended a lecture by Mário Cruz and Ricardo Queirós from the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. The session focused on integrating digital tools and learning experiences within challenge-based learning to support the development of next-generation entrepreneurs. A presentation by Istanbul Aydin University was also delivered.
The second day featured presentations on a range of teaching methodologies applied in courses within ESTG’s Department of Business Sciences. Professors Adriano Andreghetto, Amélia Carvalho, Fernanda Leão, Olga Pereira, Telma Mendes, and Tiago Cunha shared their approaches, followed by discussions on how these methodologies could be adapted and applied within the project.
In the final days, participants provided feedback on the methodologies presented and explored practical strategies for learning through real-world challenges. The programme also included study visits to regional companies, namely the NOBRAND footwear company and the Pão de Ló de Margaride factory, offering valuable insights into local entrepreneurial practices.
